What Does Cosmetics in China Hide?

The first Private Audio from China has arrived: What is the Chinese Cosmetics Industry Hiding?

It’s a pleasure to inaugurate this new section of private audios with a professional I deeply admire!

Today, we’re crossing the globe to bring you a scoop from China.

Recently, Raquel Sánchez Aparicio participated in a super honest interview that we published on my channel, Vanesa Micolucci, where we touched on topics that concern us:

How consumers are VERY confused by so much information about cosmetics, and also The truth behind parabens and how fear marketing affects us.

I highly recommend watching that interview. Here are the topics so you can choose what interests you most:

  • 00:55 How I got a job at large companies
  • 03:07 How to combine pharmaceutical and cosmetic marketing
  • 04:14 The challenges of owning a pharmacy
  • 05:30 The challenges of working in the cosmetics industry
  • 10:26 Why the pharmaceutical industry is exclusive
  • 18:34 Frustrations in the industry
  • 25:17 Daily challenges
  • 44:33 A curious fact about the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries
  • 45:06 Parabens aren’t so bad
  • 48:00 Fear marketing
  • 51:30 Formulas with retinol

And all of this connects to a “controversial” private audio recording that Raquel sent me from China.

I asked him, “What was the craziest thing you discovered about cosmetics in China?”

And her response: I didn’t expect that!

Honestly, what Raquel Rodríguez discovered about cosmetics in China blew me away!

My thoughts (and I invite yours):

After listening to the audio, I was left mulling over these questions:

What is the REAL PURPOSE of buying certain cosmetics?

Do they really work the same as the usual ones, or are they just selling us an image?

How SAFE are the cosmetics we use every day?

Are there risks we’re not seeing?

How can we identify these cosmetics?

Now it’s your turn. What did you think of the audio?

It’s expected to reach $17.23 billion by 2029, with annual growth of 9.71%! Consumers are increasingly seeking products with natural ingredients and multifunctional formulas in China. And giants like Proctor & Gamble, L’Oreal, and Shiseido lead the industry.

But what about the growing interest in “inspired by” or imitation cosmetics?

They promise similar results at much lower prices.

Is it a smart way to save money, or are we putting our health and skin at risk?

The demand for natural ingredients tells us that consumers are concerned about what they put on their bodies.
Can we really trust that imitation cosmetics use safe, high-quality ingredients?

Or are we buying a pig in a poke, exposing ourselves to harmful substances in exchange for illusory savings?

Furthermore, the multifunctionality we seek in products (hydration, sun protection, anti-aging, etc.) requires complex and tested formulas.

Can imitations replicate these formulas with the same efficacy and safety?

Imitation cosmetic formulas often have limitations in efficacy and safety.
Although they meet minimum quality standards, the active ingredients are often in lower concentrations or less effective forms.

Additionally, they may include more allergenic ingredients, such as overpowering perfumes, which are not ideal for sensitive skin.

Am I really saving money, or am I investing in a long-term health problem?
However, when it comes to our skin and our health, isn’t it worth investing in quality, trusted products?

Our last interview with CosmoProf touched on this topic: offering premium cosmetics at affordable prices for everyone. I invite you to learn about these products.
